Her new fashion campaigns will also be launched soon as she has just completed the shoot work of Famous brands like Heera Lari by Afrooz Textile and upcoming collection of Khaas Store.

While talking to the Newsupdatetimes, Yusra Zeb Khan revealed that her 2 new projects including television play entitled “Roll Camera Action” and web series 6L are under production and will be released in a couple of months on leading channel and platforms. She expressed gratitude over audience love for her roles in previous dramas such as Ghar Jamai, Oper Bhabhi ka Makan for HUM Sitaray, Jin ki aaey gi Barat, Chatpata Chowk and Mirchian etc. She has also performed an important role in short movie which highlighted the menace of Child Abuse entitled “I am sorry Noor”, whereas she also received applause for brief role in super hit movie “Bin Roye” along side Mahira Khan and Humayoun Saeed etc .

Yusra is famous name in fashion industry having nearly 3 lacs followers on Instagram as well. Yusra have also hosted red carpet of fashion shows as one of them was for leading brand and happened in UAE. Yusra is committed to strengthen her place as a leading actress in drama industry. THE LEGEND OF MAULA JATT COMPLETES ITS 100 DAYS OF SCREENING

In yet another achievement, the global blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt completes its 100 days of screening in theaters across Pakistan. Prior to hitting its 100 days run in theatres, the film also surpassed the unbelievable milestone of 100+ Crore in Pakistan, along with collecting 10 million USD on the worldwide box office on the last day of 2022.

Since its release in October 2022 in Pakistan and the rest of the world, The Legend of Maula Jatt has gone on to rule the theatres globally and has led to Pakistani cinema’s miraculous domination on the Subcontinent’s box office, post-COVID.

The mega-hit directed by Bilal Lahsari and produced by Ammara Hikmat is the highest grossing film from the subcontinent in the past 4 years. The film broke records by becoming the highest grossing Punjabi film of all time worldwide in the 4th week of its release.

Before this, the film has managed to make many other records and has many titles to its name including; Highest Grossing Pakistani Film, 2nd Highest Grossing film from the Subcontinent in UK for the year 2022 & the Most Watched South Asian film in Norway.

TLOMJ was released on 13th October 2022 globally in 25 different territories with 500+ screens making it one of the biggest releases to come out of Pakistan. Due to popular demand the film continues to grab more screen in both the local and overseas market and is still going strong despite numerous new releases every week ever since it’s release.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is the directorial masterpiece of Bilal Lashari. The film boasts an ensemble cast starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Ali Azmat, Saima Baloch and Faris Shafi alongside veterans such as Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ejaz, Resham, Babar Ali and Raheela Agha. Produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad J. Khan under the joint venture of Encyclomedia & Lashari Films in association with AAA Motion Pictures of Ali Murtaza with a screenplay by Bilal Lashari and dialogues by Nasir Adeeb, the movie is a hard reboot of the 1979 cult classic ‘Maula Jatt’.

The filmmakers have partnered with Geo Films as their presenting partner, the largest media group and key contributor to the revival of cinema in Pakistan. The film is being locally distributed by Nadeem Mandviwalla of Mandviwalla Entertainment, who is well known for his contribution to the cinema over the decades. Internationally, the film is being distributed by MovieGoers Entertainment.

Shahid Nadeem to deliver Keynote address at the World Theatre Summit

Eminent Pakistani playwright Shahid Nadeem has been invited to deliver the keynote address at the 36th World Theatre Congress being held in February in Fujairah,UAE. 
The Congress is being organised by UNESCO’s International Theatre Institute in collaboration with the Government of UAE . Paris-based ITI is the largest performing arts organisation of the world and representatives of performing arts from all over the world attend this event. Shahid Nadeem, who heads Pakistan’s leading theatre group Ajoka,  is the first Pakistani to be given the honour of delivering the keynote at an  ITI Congress Summit. He will deliver his address on 21 February on  “Performing Arts, more than merely a player”.  
In his letter of invitation, ITI Deputy Director General, Chen Zhongwen, said “As a World Theatre Day Message Author for 2020, your powerful words still echo in our community. ITI would be honoured if you could accept this invitation, and we believe your experience, knowledge and reflection on this topic will be valuable for all the Congress participants.”
It may be noted that Shahid Nadeem was selected by ITI to deliver the World Theatre Day Message 2020.  His message, titled “ Theatre as a Shrine”, was translated in more than 60 languages and read out in nearly 90 countries.  He is the first Pakistani to join the illustrious ranks of iconic World Theatre Day message authors including Arthur Miller, Pablo Neruda, Eugene Ionesco, Peter Brook, Dario Fo, Lawrence Olivier, Vaclav Havel, Peter Sellars and Augusto Boal.

Aangun – Centre for Learning and Culture hosted the screening of award-winning films “Moum k Aansu”.

Aangun – Center for Learning and Culture hosted a film screening event featuring international award-winning films “Moum k Aansu” by Samran Ali and “Five Stars” by Mehroz Amin. The event was attended by a large number of youth from diverse backgrounds, who had the opportunity to watch the films and participate in question and answer sessions with the filmmakers and their teams.

“Moum k Aansu” is a film that tells the story of Salma who wants a secure future for her daughter but doesn’t know what to do because of her profession as a sex worker. “Five Stars” is a film about a young girl who leaves her home to follow her heart only for it to be broken, and a chance encounter with her taxi driver restores her faith in kindness. These films have been highly praised for their powerful performances and emotional depth.

The film screening event was a huge success and received positive feedback from attendees. Aangun – Center for Learning and Culture plans to continue hosting similar events in the future to promote local artists and engage with the community.

The co-founder of Aangun – Center for Learning and Culture, Umair Mushtaq, stated that the promotion of local artists and engagement of the community is important to uplift society. He emphasized that it is important to invite young talent and encourage them to talk about the issues they see as important using creative mediums.

Aangun – Center for Learning and Culture, a project of The Little Art, is a playground for children and youth to explore their potential through creativity, imagination and the arts. Ajoka students perform at Alhamra

Promising new writing and acting talent was showcased by Ajoka Institute at a well.attended and well-organised event held at Alhamra on Thursday. The programme included new scripts developed by students of Ajoka’s Art of Writing students mentored by playwright Shahid Nadeem. The first script was titled “Toon Aho Aho Aakh ” by Danish Ali Khan, which told the story of a British Pakistani Muslim whose candid questions about the values and practices of his country of origin. In response, he is branded as a “ kafir” and unpatriotic and forced to flee. However it turns out that he is more patriotic and better Muslim than most. The story ended with Bulleh Shah’s verse: “ People call you a kafir, you say Yes, I am”. The second story “ Mind-blowing” by Sanawar Iqbal presents a psychological  clinic where a weird doctor treats his patients in a very unusual way and everyone comes out singing his praise. In the end, it turns out that he was an imposter, he himself was a patient. The third script “Athri Queen” by Ayesha Javed was the story of a single mother forced to join a commercial theatre group and harassed by an indecent audience. She decides to take these lecherous harassers in a bold and clever way.  The scripts were presented by the students of Ajoka’s writing and acting  students including: Azka Tahir, Hasnain Ali, Fahad Amir, Fizza Tirmizi, Hammad Yousaf , Sohail Yousaf and Affifa Shaikh.

The dramatic readings were followed by two short plays by Ajoka’s Art of Writing students.  Both plays addressed the issues relating to women. “Dhee Raani” touched the negative attitudes towards female education and their right to participate in social life of the community as an equal partner. “ Sharam Di Gal” addressed the tabooed subject of rape victims and the insensitive attitude of those who are supposed to prevent sexual crimes. The cast included : Nyle Imtiaz, Fizza Tirmizi, Aanish Khan, Qulzam Afzal, RAMEEZ, Arshad, Ghazi, Rai Ali and Hasnain Ali.

At the end certificates were awarded to the students by Mr Aftab Alam.  Those present included Naveed Bukhari, Directors Lahore Arts Council and Ajoka General Secretary Sohail Waraich.

Ajoka Institute director while speaking on the occasion congratulated the students on their spirited and impressive performances. He also thanked Lahore Arts Council for their support in showcasing new talent.

Madeeha Shah steals the limelight in “Rang Ishqay Daa”.

Lollywood’s first movie in 2023 released in cinemas across Pakistan today.

Lahore (Muhammad Yasir) Pakistan film Industry’s latest presentation “Rang Ishqay Daa” is getting nationwide release from Friday 13th January.

The distribution team of the film organized premiere show in Lahore’s famous Que cinema on Thursday evening which was graced by the prominent personalities from various walks of life including film, theatre, Fashion and performing arts etc.

Written and directed by Lollywood veteran Muhammad Parvez Kaleem, the film revolves around an interesting story with fresh star cast including Ali Abbas Syed, Amna Rahi and Zaria Khan, while Lollywood ‘s senior artists Madeeha Shah, Nagmah Begum and comedian Iftikhar Thakur are also appearing in pivotal roles.

The film received thundering applause from the audiences who all appreciated the star cast’s performance especially Madeeha Shah.

Madeeha steals the limelight with her elegant screen presence and powerful performance. According to viewers, “Rang Ishqay Da” is a quality product made purely for family entertainment.

All the actors have done complete justice with their roles. The film’s music has been composed by renowned musician Zulfiqar Ali Atray, which is receiving special attention.

Ajoka to showcase new talent at Alhamra

Ajoka will showcase new writing and acting talent at an event to be held on Thursday 12 January at 6.30pm in Alhamra Hall 3.

The event will start with dramatic readings of three new scripts written by students of 17th batch Ajoka Institute Art of Writing course.  The courses are mentored by eminent playwright and Executive Director of Ajoka Theatre Shahid Nadeem.  The scripts include “Mind-blowing”, written by Sanawar Iqbal, a story about a psychologist with a strange approach towards mental illness.

The second script will be Danish Ali Khan’s “Toon Aho Aho Aakh, about a visiting noble British Pakistani who is painted as a devil by the vested interest. The last script will be “Athri Queen” by Ayesha Javed, which is about a wild female stage artist, who knows how to handle lustful audience.The dramatic readings will be presented by the writers themselves supported by Ajoka’s acting students.

The final segment of the event will be performances of Ajoka’s short plays:“ Dhee Raani” and “ Sharam Di Gal”, by the students of Ajoka Institute’s Art of Acting course. The plays written by Shahid Nadeem are directed by Ajoka Institute director Nirvaan Nadeem.

The event is being held in collaboration with Lahore Arts Council. Ajoka chairperson Zara Salman said in a statement that Ajoka is the only performing arts institution introducing new talent on a regular basis and serving the growing performing arts industry.
