Karachi (Muhammad Yasir) Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited announced the appointment of Roman Yazbeck as its Managing Director.

Since joining PMI in 1996, Roman has built an impressive career defined by progress and passion across functions and continents. He has served in a wide range of positions within Philip Morris International including Controller, Director Finance and Director Corporate Affairs in Italy to Managing Director Romania and Bulgaria to Vice President Africa and the Levant. His previous assignment at Philip Morris International was Vice President External Affairs & Business Development for South & South East Asia.

Prior to joining Philip Morris, Roman has also worked with other leading organizations in Italy and the United Kingdom.

With a Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and an MBA from INSEAD, Roman brings with him great experience and an entrepreneurial approach with a vision of maintaining the international standard of operations in Pakistan and enhancing the company’s portfolio further.

(7th) Seventh Arena Premier Cricket League to open at UBL Sports Complex

Karachi (Muhammad Yasir) The seventh edition of the Arena Premier Cricket League (APL) will be launched from February 18, 2020 at the UBL Sports Complex, Karachi. The event, organized by Arena Multimedia Pakistan, aims to promote healthy activities and opportunities for students to participate and enjoy the sport.

The cricket tournament, scheduled to begin February 18 at the UBL Sports Complex, will feature teams from 14 Arena Multimedia Centers on the basis of a single league. The tournament’s final will be played on February 19 among the league’s top two teams, with prominent players from the city including former players expected to attend the tournament’s closing ceremony.

The APL is an initiative of Arena Multimedia Pakistan, making it the only multimedia institute in the country which has been organizing the Arena Premier Cricket League for the last several years.

Lahore (Muhammad Yasir) One of the leaders in the spice industry, Shan Foods partnered with the Robin Hood Army to distribute 33,000 Shoop noodles to people in underserved areas.

As a part of a new initiative begun by Shan Foods, under their corporate social responsibility, the partnership aimed to deliver food to underprivileged communities. The packets were distributed in Mubarak Village, Shanti Nagar, Manghopir – Umer Mangal School and Karachi Public School in Malir. Five thousand packs were also given to Khana Ghar at Khuda ki Basti.

The talented starlet Zoya Nasir, after garnering rave reviews for her debut role in Hania, and is currently garnering rave reviews in 7th Sky Entertainment’s blockbuster Deewangi, is will next be seen our screens as one of the leads in ‘Zebaish’.

The budding young actress started her career with a challenging role and has been making waves ever since her debut performance. She will now be starring as one of the leads in this drama scripted by the legendary Bushra Ansari and directed by Iqbal Hussain. The ensemble cast also includes Bushra Ansari, Asma Abbas, Zara Noor Abbas, and Asad Siddiqui.

JazzCash to facilitate payments for Green Crescent Trust

Lahore (Muhammad Yasir) Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital communications company, recently concluded its annual flagship business events, Jazz Business Connects. At these events, it signed contracts with several companies to provide them tailored digital financial services to help achieve better business outcomes. One such important signing was between Jazz and Green Crescent Trust, a non-profit organization in Sindh that focuses on education and development.

The contract was signed by Green Crescent Trust’s CEO, Zahid Saeed & Jazz’s Chief Enterprise Officer Syed Ali Naseer. As part of the agreement, Jazz Business shall provide a solution that enables the trust to collect fees from over 29,000 students through JazzCash as well as providing salary disbursement solution for their staff.

Syed Ali Naseer expressed his views on the signing saying, “We support Green Crescent’s vision to educate children across Sindh and are honored to facilitate them digitally by providing them a cost-effective way of managing their payments through JazzCash”.

Zahid Saeed said about the arrangement, “We are looking forward to working with Jazz to streamline our financial operations for our network of more than 150 schools in Thar. We will be able to collect the nominal fee from our students as well as disburse salaries to our staff through this agreement“.
