European first: France set for satellite war game

Toulouse, France: France on Friday prepared to simulate an attack by a hostile power on one of its satellites in a war game scenario the government said is less outlandishly futuristic than it may seem. President Emmanuel Macron was to watch onsite as his military chiefs started to play out a four-day sequence in which an unnamed space-capable power attacks a nation allied to France, and tries to take out a French communications satellite. Germany, Italy and the US are participating in the AsterX space war game at France´s national space agency CNES in Toulouse, the first such exercise in France or in Europe.

It is an opportunity to simulate modifying the flight path of satellites, sending backup satellites to fix a breakdown, monitoring the transmission of sensitive data and scrambling transmissions by hostile satellites temporarily or even shutting them down completely. The scenario of the exercise may be fictional, Macron´s office said, but is far from implausible. The French government accuses Russia of having brought its intelligence-gathering satellite Olymp-K, also known as Louch, into close proximity of the French-Italian military satellite Athena-Fidus in 2017 in what Defence Minister Florence Parly called “an act of espionage”.

Last year, the US claimed that Russia had conducted a non-destructive anti-satellite weapons test from space. Before the exercise kicked off, Macron headed a meeting of the space command, a body created in 2017 to run France´s military strategy in space.

The game was on its way of strengthening the roots in youth who loved to clear exciting encounters of the game in various levels but all of the sudden Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) have posed ban on the game on the request of Punjab Police. Additional IG of Punjab Police Inam Ghani also shared an exclusive message for parents regarding restriction on the game after teenage commits suicide due to a missing task in PUBG.

The ban on immensely popular Battle royale game was announced on 1st July after PTA received complaints from different segments of the society and parents. A number of suicide cases and attempts to take their own lives by youngsters proved to be a decisive factor when the internet regulator decided to continue the temporary suspension of the game after the hearing on 9th July.

PTA, however, failed to reach a decision on the matter after hearing the petitioners and comments from the public. PTA had earlier asked the general public to submit their response on the ban by emailing their messages to consultation-pubg@pta.gov.pk. In this regard, PTA issued the following statement after the hearing yesterday:

There was a hearing conducted in PTA on PUBG by authorized officers. The petitioner in IHC, councils of PUBG, Civil society representatives participated. They presented their viewpoints for and against ban on PUBG. The Authority will decide on the matter after due deliberation in the next few days. The authority has confirmed that the final decision on whether to extend the ban or remove it will be announced in a few days.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had dismissed a petition filed by a local PUBG champion who was set to represent the country in a mega gaming event. The court also directed PTA to explain the laws under which the ban was imposed on the game. In the past week or so, a number of Twitter campaigns have called on PTA to unban PUBG.

Here’s how you can Still Play PUBG Mobile in Pakistan

However, this is not stopping fans from playing the game and they are finding different ways to avoid the ban. As we all know, nothing can truly be banned from the internet as people will always find a solution. In PUBG’s case, people are using VPNs to bypass the ban. This does increase the ping (delay or latency) compared to what players would normally get get, but it is still playable nonetheless.

Normally VPNs are not that good for gaming, but after some testing, we’ve found the ones that give the best results. Here is a quick guide for how you can use VPNs to play the game.

VPN Master

VPN Master is able to provide the best results for online gaming. While others can also ensure low ping, VPN Master is completely free, allows unlimited data, and has a variety of regions you can choose from. In any case, let’s hope that players do not have to put up with this for too long. PTA is scheduled to announce its final decision soon and that will ultimately decide the fate of the game. Fingers crossed.

However youngster should not take this game so seriously and just play it like a game. They should take part in healthy activities in sports and creative writing and thinking besides wasting so much time on play game on mobile as by doing this they are wasting precious times which will never come back. The Newsupdate Times also supports ban imposed by PTA on PUBG as incidents of suicides have no justification and there is nothing important than human life.
