Accountancy and finance professionals are at the forefront of the transition to a sustainable future according to the latest research by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Finance professionals from around the world shared their views, resulting in our new report Accounting for Society’s Values.

Organisations need to transition to a sustainable future that embraces the economic, environmental and social aspects in combination. Society faces long-term challenges from social injustice, with stakeholders and regulators increasingly focusing on the social implications of the actions of organisations. That’s why defining and measuring the return to society by an organisation’s activities is becoming as important as the financial objectives themselves.

The accountancy and finance profession needs to see this as an opportunity to define its future role and put the social agenda at the core of the profession.

Three key messages from this report:

1. The profession’s future embraces sustainability through social equity and protecting the environment.

2. Measuring the social agenda is difficult, but we must act.

3. There is a strong business imperative to embed this agenda into strategy now.

Verified Suppliers on Alibaba.com are identifiable by a “Verified Supplier” tag visible to buyers in the platform’s search results, product detail pages and the suppliers’ company profiles. Additionally, Verified Suppliers have access to an exclusive online pavilion on Alibaba.com, where they can showcase their products and enjoy greater exposure to potential buyers. The features are beneficial to eligible Pakistani companies looking to enter the global market, by helping them establish themselves as credible businesses and stand out from the competition.

In celebration of the World SME Day, Alibaba.com also co-hosted a webinar with the International Trade Centre (ITC), providing valuable insights into the latest digital trends and tools available to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) worldwide. During the webinar, titled “The Future of B2B E-commerce,” ITC emphasized that small businesses can reap significant benefits from e-commerce if they transform their organizational structure, invest in digital skills and establish a strong online presence. The World Economic Forum announces the selection of the 100 most promising Technology Pioneers, companies that are tackling issues such as sustainability, climate change, and healthcare.
ABHI, an embedded finance platform, is among the winners making history for a Fintech from the MENAP region.
This year’s cohort includes representation from 31 economies on six continents.
