Dolmen Mall Amplifies Independence Day Celebrations in Karachi

Karachi (Muhammad Yasir)  Dolmen Mall also known as a Mall with a Heart, celebrated Independence Day through five days of nostalgic retro experience. From 10-14 August, all three malls in Clifton, Tariq Road and Hyderi were adorned with pop up installations, green and white embellishments, lights and aesthetic visuals to mark the 71st birthday of the land of pure.

Creative décor featuring vintage memorabilia, old radios, TV, gramophone and photo booths were put up throughout the mall to keep the visitors engrossed. The visitors were most excited by the dated adornments in the form of old Pakistani currency, phone booths and classic Pakistani vehicles.

The majestic festivities began with a formation and pledge towards Pakistani progress by less privileged, highly talented students of TCF (The Citizens Foundation) at Dolmen Mall Clifton who were present through the festivities. As a collaborative effort, World Wildlife Federation (WWF) also launched a grand recycling drive “Beat Plastic Pollution” and a Plantation drive “Rang Do” at the mall.

Shaniera Akram initiated the activity of “Hoga Saaf Pakistan” campaign by bringing in empty plastic bottles and putting them in the recycling bin. Many other renowned celebrities like Ayesha Omer, Hareem Farooq, Zhallay Sarhadi, Momal Sheikh, Yashma Gill, anchor Sidra Iqbal and singer Abdullah Muzaffar joined hands to support this cause.

The eve of Independence Day was marked with Performances by Asif Sinan, South Asian Ensemble co-curated by Salt Arts and Ahsan Bari. Kashmir Band performed live and joined the audience in a zealous countdown to the nation’s 71st Independence Day.

Recognising the perseverance and lifetime accomplishment of renowned Pakistanis, the mall presented John Permal, Nighat Misbah, Ansar Burney and Javed Miadad lifetime achievement awards for their contribution towards Pakistan and invited them and their families to hoist the national flag at the mall. Visitors were taken to a whole new level of patriotism through parades, flag hoisting and cake cutting ceremonies on the Independence Day.

The biggest attraction remained the #BoulevardChowk that led the visitors into a nostalgic engagement experience with games such as hopscotch, ludo, carrom and pittu garam. Dolmen Mall invited visitors to digitally share photos, tributes, achievements, fables from the time of independence.

Additionally, Dolmen Mall gave away 1947 gifts and prizes, 71 gift hampers and 14 grand prizes through lucky draws and shopping incentives.

Khaadi moves to an iconic store in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir

The decision to relocate was taken to provide its customers a bigger store focusing on design and offering its clients an unforgettable shopping experience.

The Iconic Masarrat Misbah Received the Excellence in Humanity Award at Hum Awards 2018

Dolmen Family Narrates Stories of Tradition, Culture and Gifting

The recreational and educational trip around the mall with celebrities like Asaad Ahmed, Kashmir Band and volunteers of participating brands spread smiles on the faces of TCF students who achieved top scores last academic year.  The student’s academic resolve was rewarded through an ‘on the house’ shopping spree for their Eid outfits, iftaar, surprise gifts and fun time at Sindbad’s.

Throughout Ramadan, Dolmen mall was tastefully embellished to reflect the culture, tradition and festivities with a special Eid Bazaar, tantalizing iftaar and sehri deals and hosted the coveted Dolmen Eidi that gifted Eid baskets to shopping winners of daily draws during Ramadan shopping at Dolmen.

Additionally, a unique collaboration with Karachi Chefs at Home (KCH); a popular women centric Facebook group encouraged participation in a “Eid Ki Mithaas” contest. Khaadi – the first Pakistani brand to open a retail store in Scotland

Lahore (Muhammad Yasir) Khaadi, the country’s leading fashion retail brand announced the opening of its first store in Scotland becoming the first Pakistani brand to open a retail outlet in the country.

The Glasgow store is located at the Silverburn Shopping Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in the UK, and is the brand’s eighteenth international store and eighth in the UK. It will showcase products from Khaadi’s Ready to Wear, accessories and Khaadi Khaas collection.

The 2772 square foot store uses simple materials like raw finished surfaces comprising of natural wood and stone to highlight the presence of natural elements. The mural wall is a composition of back painted glass and has been designed by the artist, Sohail Abdullah.
