Secure Logistics Group Ltd’s Book Building Starts from 27th March

Secure Logistics Group Ltd IPO’s book building phase will be held on 27th and 28th March where high net worth individuals and institutional investors will subscribe to 100% per cent of the issue size (50 million shares). 

The book building will start at the floor price of Rs 12 per share. Based on the interest from investors during the book building process, the strike price can rise by 40 per cent to up to Rs 16.80 a share, thus helping the company to potentially raise Rs 840 million.

After the book building process, successful bidders will be provisionally allotted 75 per cent of the issue size (50 million shares). The remaining 25 per cent shares will then be offered to retail investors at the strike price. SLG aims to raise a minimum of Rs 600 million by offering a 18 percent stake in the company to institutional and general investors.

SLG has also already secured pre-IPO equity of Rs585 million from existing strategic investors like Saudi Bugshan Group ( a large Saudi conglomerate) and Karandaaz Pakistan, a FDCO backed development finance institution.

The primary purpose of the equity capital raising is to “deleverage the balance sheet in an unprecedented high interest rate environment, enhance company’s technology infrastructure base to complete the on-going Tech-Pivot and initiate expansion into the regional markets”.

The company has a solid track record of capital market transactions to boost business growth.  It successfully closed Rs600 million convertible Term Finance Issue in 1Q CY19 and raised another PKR 1.2 billion through equity issue to Saudi Bugshan Group and Karandaaz Pakistan in 1Q CY20.  SLG’s  IPO has been priced at an attractive trailing P/E of 5.39x at the floor price of Rs12.

WWF-Pakistan’s World Water Day Seminar Highlights Vital Role of Groundwater Recharge Wells

WWF-Pakistan organized a World Water Day seminar and a field visit to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore where two groundwater recharge wells have been constructed as part of the Ravi River Restoration Project. The event brought together industry experts, academia, and members from the Ministry of Water Resources to witness the ongoing efforts made towards ensuring the responsible and efficient use of water resources in the region. The Ravi River Restoration Project, funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation in partnership with WWF-Pakistan is replenishing water through a combination of interventions including rainwater harvesting systems, recharge wells, floating treatment wetlands, ablution water reuse systems, water efficient fixtures and on-farm water management practices.

 

Spotify celebrates EQUAL Pakistan’s Second Anniversary

In celebration, Spotify is treating its listeners to an exciting data mix that showcases the evolving landscape of female representation in the country’s music industry over the past year.

To date, Spotify has added more than 6,900 women artists to EQUAL playlists and supported over 1,000 ambassadors in their home countries and beyond through editorial, partnerships, and marketing. EQUAL artists received 1.3 billion editorial streams within their first month of joining the program. In total, the EQUAL hub has generated over 31 billion editorial streams across 1 billion listening hours. In 2023 alone, more than 14.8 million artist discoveries were made through EQUAL playlists, and EQUAL artists received over 11,800 total editorial playlist adds.

“EQUAL Pakistan’s anniversary is a celebration of the resilient, towering women creators that shape the fabric of our music industry, and with EQUAL Pakistan, we aim to amplify these creators so that they can take more space,” said Rutaba Yaqub, Spotify’s Senior Editor for Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. “Over the past year, there has been more than a 25% increase in streams for local women artists in 2023 globally, compared to the previous year, whereas, there was a visible increase in local consumption of local women artists experiencing a 44% rise in streams in 2023, emphasizing their growing influence and appeal among local listeners.”

According to the data revealed by Spotify, Asteria witnessed an astounding 408% growth and Hareem Rashid experienced a significant surge of 281% in monthly listeners within just one month of being featured as the EQUAL Pakistan ambassadors for October and November 2023, respectively, demonstrating substantial amplification of some of the freshest voices budding in Pakistan. Tina Sani, Aima Baig and Sanam Marvi also experienced the highest growth in listenership since joining the EQUAL Pakistan program .

The programming of local woman artists in Spotify playlists also saw a commendable 20% growth in 2023, reflecting a concerted effort of EQUAL Pakistan to showcase and promote their talent to wider audiences.

The presence of renowned names like Momina Mustehsan, Nazia Hassan, Quratulain Balouch, Abida Parveen, and Hadiqa Kiani in the top local women artists worldwide for 2023 underscores the global impact of Pakistani talent and Spotify’s ability to bring these voices to an international audience.

Continuing its mission to spotlight some of the country’s most talented woman voices through EQUAL Pakistan, Spotify has announced Zeb Bangash as the Ambassador for the month of March this year and featured her song “Lajpal Ali” on the EQUAL Pakistan playlist. Ajoka Theatre Presents Special Performance of “Bulha and Banda” for Harvard University Students.

Ajoka Theatre, renowned for its thought-provoking productions, presented a special performance of its acclaimed play “Bulha and Banda” at the Punjab Institute for Language Art and Culture (PILAC). The exclusive show was organized for a distinguished delegation of students from the esteemed Harvard University of America.

Written by Ajoka’s Executive Director, Shahid Nadeem, “Bulha and Banda” is a compelling narrative inspired by extracts from Ajoka’s iconic play “Bullah.” The play depicted the visionary encounter between the legendary Sufi Saint, Bulleh Shah, and Banda Singh Bahadur, each advocating their unique ideologies in response to the tyranny of their respective eras. It served as a powerful plea for love, peace, and a poignant critique of intolerance, violence, and hatred.

The performance was enriched by the soulful musical renditions of Bulleh Shah’s qawwalis by Ali Moon qawwal . Before the performance, a video report on 40 years of Ajoka was shown followed by a question and answer session.
The Director General of PILAC, Ns Beenish Fatima Sahi, welcomed the delegates and spoke about the significance of Sufi poets like Bulleh Shah.

Prior to this event, Ajoka Theatre also staged an exclusive presentation of the Sufi play “Bulha” at the Learning Hub Girls College, Gujranwala. Inspired by the life and teachings of Bulleh Shah.
